Fizik Arione width, and your sit bone width
I was trying to uptain measurements on the arione saddle. I find many places that say the saddle is 30cm long, but i have not really seen any measurements of how wide this saddle is. I am just concerned if it will fit me (my sit bones) or not. I cannot find any of these saddles in stock locally or i would just go try it out. And i don't want to order one just to find out that it's more of a thong then a saddle.
So how wide is your arione, but more importantly how wide are your sit bones?? (if you've measured) Also wouldn't mind hearing from the riders that tried the arione and didn't like it cause of sit bone issues. For refference i'm ridding my old Selle Italia XO Genuine Gel 13.6 x 26.5cm |
I can measure my saddle tonight if no one has provided numbers by then. I used to ride the Selle Italia Flites only, then tried this saddle and love it.

Hm. We were playing around with tape measures when I was trying to find new saddles, and DH's butt measured out at 3.25"; his Arione was right around 4" I think? I just remember thinking it'd get lost between my 6" spaced buttbones. :p

What's the trick for measuring sit bones? Is it any more complicated than pressing a rule against your tush and measuring the distance between the hard sit points?

My Arione measured 5.2 inches at the widest section of the saddle (just behind the "wing" parts).
Not sure on my sit bones though.... |
the arione is about 130mm wide.
from the REI website "Dimensions 12.4 x 5.2 inches" |
ok, my sit bones are roughly 4.75", hmmm kinda close anyone else have any measurements to help me with the decision?
|
are we talking about ass bones? I reckon the crucial width measurement of a seat is the middle section which takes a lot of weight from boney bit the crotch.

Your sit bone width will also change depending on your position in the saddle. The more aero you are, the narrower they will be.
