Helmets with sunglasses holders

In the market for a new helmet since I really want one that accommodates sunglasses. However, it is quite impossible to simply search for something like "bike helmet sunglasses holder" since you will get a lots of results of helmets and sunglasses, but not both. I believe Giro calls them docks, but even searching for "helmet sunglasses dock" returns irrelevant results. Even searching here on BF is difficult with such common terms.

So basically, what helmets should I be looking at? I know that Giro Synthe has a dock, but it is now discontinued (so I was told). Interested in mid-range options, preferably with MIPS.

Giro Aether has the docks. Specialized Prevail 2 also has them.

Huh? The synthe is not discontinued, they just released 2019 colorways, I think they only discontinued the non MIPS version

The Giro Synth is not discontinued.

Both the Synth and new Aether have docking ports.

The Smith Overtake has a "Sunglasses Garage." I don't know if they fit all brands or just their own brand glasses.

The Bolle One, Trackdown and EXO also have a "Sunglasses Garage" feature. Maybe other models. I don't know about them all.

Personally, I love the feature on my Giro Synth. It is amazing what a small change like removing sunglasses can do. It's nice to take them off for a few minutes on a hot climb and comforting to know that expensive prescription glasses are secure.

hmm, I just tuck an arm into my baselayer shirt; I guess I'm missing out.

Zero cool factor.

I use my ears to hold my glasses.

i put them on the back of my head, very easy to reach to put them on or take them off.

Even with those glasses docks, not all glasses fit there perfectly.

Those who don't wear prescription glasses to see will never understand the anxiety that those of us who do have around keeping our glasses safe.

My guess is that those who scoff at the feature don't need glasses to see.

They definitely don't work well with Oakley eyewear.

Punctuation. It's the difference between "Let's eat, grandma!" and "Let's eat grandma!" BTW...Glasses hanging down in front is an annoyance to many, myself included.

Ever watched the pros just turn their sunglasses over
and poke them thru the air holes in the helmet?

Base layer? I live in Southern California, I am still wearing a short sleeve jersey for my morning rides. I would die with a baselayer.

superdex 11-07-18 01:11 PM

Bontrager Velocis (and Circuit, and others); Bontrager calls it a "port"

Also, Giro Pneumo, Aeon, and other "non-aero" styles hold sunglasses in their vents, perhaps just not marketed as such. This is one of those drive-around-town-seeing-things-in-person kinda missions....

you wouldn't die with a baselayer. I live in Phoenix, and wear a baselayer all summer long.

helmet makers have added sticky padding to those spots and turned it into a marketing thing. "Ports," "docks," etc. are those same vents...

I would hate to lose that completely unzipped jersey feeling! It feels like wearing a cape.
