Addiction LXXIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

went to the store and was suitably impressed but they didn't have my size. So I used the www to procure one.

The color is Marigold. It is better than the Nashbar pullover I have been using since 1992.

Marigold? Looks more like Ochre to me.

Either way,

Especially that one which has become my favorite, for it is easy putting on the right one drop per link, and longevity. Excellent choice. And I kinda like the top.

I got the most delicious peanuts at Aldi. They are labelled “blistered peanuts”. Never heard of em but it’s some technique where the peanuts are boiled then roasted (what is the normal process, I have no idea).

Anyway, the peanuts were so good that I whirled up some peanut butter. Just peanuts and a little roasted walnut oil. The peanut butter is uber tasty.

Good for you. I was hugging the porcelain appurtenance about 2 AM last night. Should never have eaten a taco salad in a tavern mid-ride yesterday. Anyway, feel ok this morning but may have to rest my raw throat and sore ribs today.

Wind has turned around and coming out of the north again, just in time for the arrival of two of my three sisters from the fatherland. Humid 90s would have been rough. 70s/80s will be better.

Just looking at the ratings I had to chuckle: if they had taken 18 BF opinions the average score would have been 2.5, not 4.8, because as we all know BF members by nature cover the entire range of opinions, from "love it" to "hate it" and everything in between.

I have observed that people on BF have strong opinions about things. I have strong opinions about shovels. I only like awesome shovels so I am lucky to have one.

I make my own chain lube from bacon grease, PTFE, titanium nanoparticles, and Astroglide, in a toluene carrier. I also drink a little of it every day, which is why I look so good at my advanced age.

Gute Besserung, Hr. Tresenreiter.
