Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The dogs are judged on a number of hunting attributes, on a scale from 1-10, with 10 being the best. To get a PASS, the dog has to score at least 5 in each category from each judge, and also get an average score across all three judges of at least 6, and also demonstrate a lack of gun shyness.

Puppy Love’s scores:
Ability to find (searching)- 8 from each judge
Use of voice- 8 from each judge
Line ability- 9 from each judge
Adaptability- 9 from each judge
Determination- two 10’s and a 9
Gun shyness- Pass x 3

Wow that’s even better than I realized!

Upon further reflection, it had to be later since our team had those jersey that early. I'll date it between '95 and '98.

That's just so disappointing.

I recently read about people with too much $$ paying big bucks to get infusions of "young blood" which I think is actually just plasma from young people, supposedly it's the latest anti-aging fad. Google it at your own risk.

That's wild, wacky stuff. Sad!

There had been a high end shop in Philly called Bike Tech, but it had become a Bike Line a year or two before. However, they still had some of the old Bike Tech merchandise left over. The De Rosa frame they had was too small. A mechanic went down into the basement and emerged with the frame. Columbus TSX tubing with a chrome fork. Built it up with Ultegra STI and Mavic rims. I rode the crap out of that bike. Even took it to Italy when I went on a Giro vacation in '95. At some point in the late 90s a mechanic noticed that the downtube was bent. Think it happened when I rode off my rollers and straight into a wall in my apartment. When I gave up my apartment in '99 to start my two years of touring/not working I stored it in my mom's garage. At some point my mom hired two friends of mine to do some extended work on her house. Big drinkers and somewhat absent minded at times. One day when they finished work they left the garage door open and someone stole it.

So do I. There is a large gap in my life without many photos of me. That happened to be the team picture for a charity event. I was the only one who showed up, hence the hard to read message "(At least I made it!")
Taken at what was then called the Lehigh County Velodrome in Trexlertown, PA.

Bummer. Is it just being "spoiled by success" crowds or is it safety/security or what??

The former. "Let's see how much we can gouge, and how quickly". We looked at two complete dumps, in a popular area, and each wanted better than US$350 per night. They were maybe worth $75. And then you had the crowds to deal with. We hightailed to Valladolid, where we found a lovely hotel for $30, and a remote cenote which could be bicycled to, if one of us was not bogged down by the morning heat.

But the drive over, and the drive back were on empty roads. Set the cruise control and go. The peninsula is a vast emptiness, except for a few population centers.

Did I read correctly that there's been AIDS patients cured with bone marrow transplants that reset their immune system?

Am I a candidate for bone marrow transplant so I can fix my immune system?

Interesante. Sometimes mrs datlas and I plot to become expats somewhere. I like southern Spain but this hemisphere may have some good options.

Ditto. It's something that struck me recently when looking through pics of my kids. I mean, there are most certainly fewer photos of me, over the entirety of my live, than the number of photos that I've personally taken of my 7-year-old boy. Not only that, but other than my wedding photos, there are very, very few pics of me from my mid-20s to early 30s, that time when adult life kinda kicked in and I wasn't hanging with the friends as much.

Yes you are correct about BMT potentially curing AIDS, but the procedure is very risky and you have to take very strong immunosuppressant medicine indefinitely so it's not worth it.

Back to the drawing board for you.
