Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

More and more they are becoming like pigeons in Philly. Many don't bother flying south for the winter anymore. Just yesterday I saw a bunch grazing in the middle of a traffic island near the Rocky statue. And they crap all over a rec path I use to get out of the city. But I have to admit that their fluffy yellow chicks are adorable for about the first few weeks of their lives.

I hope she is healing up ok. Agree that less medicine is better whenever possible.

FYI they are looking into re-classifying gabapentin as a controlled substance. Not everyone, but some people do abuse it. Sad!

Yep. I think she increases the dose soon. She hasn't had any problems yet.

I've been seeing cat tracks in the snow around the house this year too. Probably why the mouse traps have been quiet lately.

So the company buying Performance etc. decided they were only joking when they made the high bid?

It may not matter, but I could have specified biologics and specialty pharmacies.

This came up as an issue earlier this month. I called the specialty pharmacy to have a refill sent. After putting me on hold for a few minutes, the rep said, "I'm sorry, the insurance won't pay for this because another pharmacy ran an order for this drug in December."

wut I had not contacted the second pharmacy, nor had they shipped any drug.

I called Bluecross and the rep put me on hold for a while, yet ultimately didn't have a good explanation why two different pharmacies had the prescription. He tried to pin it on my doctor.

I've never had a full-blown discussion with the process with my doctor, but my impression was that they did not select the pharmacy. Why had they previously asked me which pharmacy I was using?

It was even weirder because the BCBS guy told me that the pharmacy I had been using was not one of their "preferred pharmacies." Yet I've never been billed a co-pay or told that I'm out-of-network.

Tough to say for sure what happened, but I am always a little suspicious of those "specialty pharmacies," as they seem to have an unholy alliance with the pharmaceutical companies.

Of course you could say the same thing about some physicians....

It is. That's Delta. She was a very good girl, and only decided to take herself for walks when she got pretty old. Otherwise, she knew her boundaries, and stuck to them.

Sounds like some serious weather. Take care of yourselves!

If it goes below 6° F here, I will set my coldest commute record on Thurs a.m.
