here's mine. '03 kestrel 200sci. it's my third 200 series frame since 1992, so as you can probably tell, i hate them. too bad they don't make 'em anymore. the cranks have been replaced with FSA SL-K's and pedals with LOOK 5.1's. dirty yellow tape has been replaced with clean yellow tape.

Can I be part of the carbon club? It's not completely carbon, but I figured there was enough to qualify.

Very well done. Naturally I have to ask... who did it and how much did it set you back?

I have a Fuji Pro '05 (stock, with DA, Ulterga brakes, FSA cranks and Velomax (Easton) Circuit II wheels. Stock weight is 16.4 w/o pedals, water bottles etc. I have had it for several months and like it so far. I had been riding a Trek 2300; the frame was made about 1993 but I built the bike up in about 1995. The wear on the CF seems to be at the joints (it is butted with aluminum at the joints). I am light (135lb) and do not need the rigid strength of the current aluminum frames; I bought a Vitus in 1983 and it had just-oversized tubes. It flexed some, but not too badly, and was moderately comfortable. But it has neither the rigidity nor the flexing of the CF frame/fork.
Funny, I think that the Type Ia supernovae occur in sufficiently massive (~8 sols?) stars when they run through their carbon "fuel" for fusion (having already fused H, He, and anyother steps). Once this occurs, the star does not have enough outward pressure to resist the gravational forces and collapses catastrophically inward blowing off a lot of residual mass. This leaves a very rapidly spinning core (revolutions measured in "per second") 10 km in diameter with unbelievable density because the interatomic forces cannot resist the massive gravatational pressure. Blackholes can result if the star was massive enough (that might be the 8 sol figure).

You know, you are right! I changed the image... that better? hehe
What's wrong with my aerobars, lol? The arm pads go down flat when using them but spring up when you take weight off. This allows riding on the top bars still.

Why buy carbon? As someone who's used carbon fiber vs aluminum on both bikes and Windsurfing Rigs (Masts and booms) I'll point out that Carbon fiber is much more responsive and better at transmitting energy. If the aluminum bike is lighter. I'd bet it's not as rigid.
