2018 Kestrel Talon X
I just assembed a 2018 Kestrel Talon X I purchased from EBay. Previously I purchased an NOS 2010 Kestrel Talon with SRAM Force components. The bike was so impressive, I wanted to try a Talon X (new frame design). The Ebayer advertised it as "new" and it is. It looks like it was purchased from Performance Bikes and shows no evidence of having been ridden (maybe he got it at a closeout). I paid $861 and swapped its stock wheels for my Dura Ace C60s. It weighs about 17 15oz (just under 18lbs). Damn winter weather coming, but can't wait to ride it when it is clear outside.

Please do a ride report, looks to be a fun ride. The snow is already coming down here, I really need to get out on the road to ride though.

Did it come with any oval components? My 2014 Kestrel Legend came with Oval everything. Replaced most of it.

Looking at the specs it has Oval parts. Oval is owned by ASI who owns Kestrel, Fuji, SE, Breezer etc so all of those bikes comes with Oval parts. They are pretty good quality for house brand. The Oval cranks use Praxis chain rings which a lot of people add to bikes as after market parts because of the quality

It was a hair under 18lbs with the Dura Ace wheels and the saddle. It fits perfectly though as my belly gets smaller I can flip the stem and go down some spacers.

There were a lot of incredible deals at Performance before they closed the brick and mortar locations. I'm sure some people, maybe employees, got some incredible deals that they could easily flip and make some good money on.

Hi - regarding the Kestrel Talon X - the seat post is oval-shaped and is reversible road/tri - does anyone know where you can get a new seatpost if it is damaged? Does any other brand have an oval seatpost ? Since Kestrel is no longer around - how about a fork for this bike. Otherwise I love my Talon X - just worried what happens when I need a fork or seatpost.
