Trek announcing "something that will change cycling forever"

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wouldn't. Loose lips sink ships.

Odds are if dealers were told, word would be on the internet already.

But they confidentiality agreements and probably not worth a lawsuit or losing the ability to sell Trek in your shop to leak info that won't even give you any gain

How many hundreds or thousands of dealers are there--and how impossible is it to track internet gossip? A dealer down in KC could let slip and word would get to me before the day is out with only 1 or 2 degrees of separation. And you'd never connect me to any shops in KC, as I've never been to or ordered from any.

The best way to keep a secret...is to not tell anyone. The second best way to keep a secret, is to only tell one other person if you absolutely must. Think that is a Gibbs Rule from NCIS.

Perhaps it’s a replacement for the FX series? Maybe even a Project One FX 7? My other guess is they are rereleasing the Gary Fisher collection.

If it's a techno thing, add another vote for an e-bike. Perhaps all Madones will now be e-bike ready. E-bikes have already changed cycling in Europe. Maybe this is their foray into e-bike dominance in the U.S.!

Or maybe . . . "Trek (FINALLY abandons the loopy BB90 bottom bracket and) invents the easy-to-service threaded bottom bracket!"

But more likely . . . it's a marketing thing. "The first gravel bike that's better on 35mm tires than 45mm!" "Project One now allows owners to paint their own bikes!" "Trek abolishes the bike shop forever!" "Every Trek road bike now has room for 40mm Bontrager tires!"

I wouldn't buy a Trek, so it wouldn't affect me at all.
