Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

"What?! But we didn't even get up until, like, 6:36!"

Gee, kid, thanks for the generosity.
A new knife?! I thought we were awaiting a new three way hex wrench.

Sorry to disappoint. I'll probably pick up a 2/2.5/3mm hex some time soon, but it'll likely be from an LBS, so no tracking number anticipation.

Also, I've got a pineapple just waiting to be sliced and diced. Should be fun.

Guac prep last night was great. The out-of-the-box edge wasn't quite as good as what's on my knives, but it still went though food much more easily - I guess that that's why the knife nerds are always talking about blade and grind geometry.

People are weird. Did they at least run the edge on a grinder so it wasn't some busted up jagged tip?

Just when I think I've seen or heard everything, I haven't.

Did a very social ride/pub crawl yesterday. We started at the back of one craft brewery, rode to another. After sampling their wares we then rode to another craft brewery. After the appropriate amount of time we biked back to the original brewery to sample some more. Even with a brutally cold southerly robbing calories and energy there is no way in Hades I got anywhere close to a calorie deficit for the day.

Having a tasty raspberry wheat beer to start at the first brewery we stopped at.

I decided to go very C&V. The bike is approximately 100 years old.

And I finished off the ride with a milk stout and slice of mocha cheesecake.
