Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hot for you, maybe. Spending weeks at sea seems even more miserable than camping.

Well, I could see it being ok on a mega-yacht. Maybe.

Very pretty and old school. A style of boat that does well offshore. Might be a steep learning curve, but he'll survive.

I'd also love to hike the length of the AT, so I guess I need some more misery in my life.

Used to do a lot of hiking with my wife until her poor knees gave out. When we lived in Boston, we especially loved the Whites off season. I doubt I could stand the cold anymore, but boy was that beautiful.

Super lightweight and aero too. Also folds up when not in use. What could be better?

I am sure Indy will tell us, but I am guessing Glacier National Park.

edit: as they say in school, the answer is on the board. Lake McDonald which is indeed in Glacier National Park.

I've seen that view from a bike several times, only with the lake melted. I'll be relatively close by again this June, but I am going to skip the park. Was just there again in 2017.

I started with a roll. The capsule uses a Boa dial as well, and is much much better than the roll. The roll is obnoxious and fiddly.

Ahhh, I see now.

In what way did you find the roll to be fiddly and obnoxious? I've had one for a year or so and think it's great - secure, easy to move from bike-to-bike, doesn't have a post strap (this was a biggie for me - those straps always abrade my not-shorts) and I think it has a bit of an old-school charm that the typical saddle bags can't touch.

Where we were in Ecuador, in Quito, the Andes are not that impressive, certainly not like that photo of Glacier National Park.. I understand there are some very high peaks elsewhere in the country, just not near the city.

Man... **** trimble navigation with a rusty 4x4.

We have some not working antenna systems out there and upset customers because Trimble has posted all over their website flat out false information about the rollover. And that the unit we have aren't affected.
