Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

I know that the Hamilton musical was hot **** for a while, but I've gotta say that it grates on my nerves. My son wants to play a song from the musical for his next piano recital, so he's been listening to it and every time he does, it makes me want to punch a kitten in a coffee cup.

My initial goal was 195, that would be 100 pounds lost. However, I'm already happy as hell about where I am. If I wouldn't lose another pound the difference I have made in my life is already huge.

Now, when / if I get to 195 I'll go from there. I have no intentions of getting back to my race weight of 160's / 170's.

I think that a part of the attraction, as least for my boy, is the hip-hop affectation. I listen to a wide variety of music, but I have shied away from that genre when the kids are about, because language/themes on some of albums that I love.

But that doesn't explain why it aggravates me so much... I feel like it's something about the cadence and dynamics. Other musicals have a similar effect, but to a lesser extent.

I hear you. My stretch goal for the year is 180 (another 17-ish lbs), but I'll feel pretty good about 190.

Haven't heard it. Don't think I'd like it. I have everything I need, here in my culturo-political bubble. I liked the Ron Chernow Hamilton biography.

Just like it’s hip to say that one has never seen a second of Game of Thrones, I can honestly say that I’ve never knowingly seen or heard anything from Hamilton.

@DougRNS How is the power meter shopping going? At your spritely age and conditioning, I can see you getting good use out of it. You are aware, of course, that you will have to have a handlebar mounted gizmo in order to read it, correct?

I've never seen an episode of Game of Thrones. It's not because I'm hip, it's because I'm too cheap to pay for HBO.

HBO was free all last week for cheapskates and Saturn owners to get caught up on their binge watching.

P.S. Congrats on the weight lost.
