In bike maintenance related news. I did a fresh chain and tune the other day, then dropped the chain going into the little ring while Otha riding with a friend
. Ran through it again this morning and realized the font derailleur was way out on all adjustments. I did a crank swap last year and everything looked good, I thought. Today I started from scratch and literally had to move everything. Cage was set too high and not parallel to big ring, so nothing from there on would ever be right, even had to move the converter pin. Test ride this afternoon, report to follow.

Ooof! I think I've only had one of those situations. Got 7/8 the way to an STXC race and realized I didn't have a helmet! Luckily I had time to drop in to Dicks for a cheapo Bell.

Customer of the Day:
Guy came in complaining that the chain on his mountain bike was slipping. I first noticed that the cassette felt loose, then I saw that there was a cog missing. It took a couple of rounds of explanation for the guy to understand what was wrong with his bike.

I took off the chain while replacing the crankset and whatnot today. After putting it all back together, I took it for a little test spin and noticed noise coming from the RD/cassette. Put it back on the stand and played around with the indexing - it looked fine, but was still noisy. Then I noticed that I neglected to lace the chain under the little cage tab between the jockey wheels - the chain was dragging over the tab, click, click, clicking.

Yeah, just minor adjustments - it seems to sit out about 1mm further than the 105 crankset.
Thanks! Yeah, taking it for a spin, I felt guilty for not riding it more. The Domane is just such a great bike, but I might have to see about tracking down more gravel to give the Haanjo some more occasional love.

I think that’s the main factor. But another issue is cats mouths are colonized by an especially virulent bacteria called Pasturella Multocida. They love asking questions like that on board exams.
