Your Weekend Ride Reports -- April 25/26/27/28

Tell us all about your cycling this weekend!

Down here in Australia, we had ANZAC Day on Thursday 25th so it ended up being kind of a long, long weekend for many people.

Had a few weekends off the bike and still getting off a recent chocolate addiction haha so took an easier ride today. Put the original rigid fork and quill stemstem on the Sakae litage to see how it rides with them. Last ride on this bike before stripping it for a repaint and parts swap, going to be sweet when finished.
Was a good ride but real cold I was fully covered, still no rain were in serious drought.
Lots of pics.

Saturday was all about test rides.

First I took out the newly built up Vitus Argal. It's a NOS 1997ish frame I found this winter and had built up with Ultegra R8000. Really windy so not able to really tell what it'll be like. Still, it was comfortable and despite the winds it was a beautiful day out. Did a little over 23 miles on this one.

When I got back I switched over to the mid 90s custom Wayne Evans I got about a week ago. I sort of just threw it together so I could see how it handled and felt on the road. Winds were even stronger when I got this one out so i just cruised around near the house for 13 miles.

56 miles. 2600 ft of climbing and some nasty headwinds coming home.

You do have some absolutely beautiful looking bikes in your collection. These are no exception, especially the Evans.

And jbchybridrider, you have reminded me again why Adelaide is a pretty good place to be when it's not really hot in the middle of summer.

Did my cinnamon roll ride this morning. A 44 mile out and back, with a stop for a pastry and coffee at the mid point at a local cafe that's a cyclist hang out.

Friday (before the snow): Went out on a quick Minnesota loop with a friend. Mostly clear skies and great views! 34.9 miles, 2,057'.

Sunday (after the snow...and after working): Another even quicker Wisconsin loop, got in just before sunset. 28.9 miles, 1,375'.

Spring is coming, and the trees are just starting to bud. Just a few weeks until work slows down and I can start getting in some nice long rides.

Friday...

40 miles on the road bike with a friend Thursday.
42 on the hybrid Friday, between a physical therapy appointment and ride afterward.
Saturday... umm... it rained, I napped.
30 miles on the new-to-me old Trek 5900 Sunday. Fun bike.

Trekenstein 5900 Carbonman, Sunday sunset ride.

I went out Thursday evening for the Davis Is. ride of 26 miles. Saturday was my best ride since being sick last month. I was able to handle the inclines and even finished the ride feeling refreshed. Perfect weather too. 42 miles to Thonotosassa. Even did two miles off road...ohhhh. Sunday it was much warmer. A little prelude to summer. Not as perky as Saturday, but still got in 40 miles okay doing the Picnic to Davis Is. route. On the downside I had to yell at a van that they were too close. They were passing me on a slight left corner bend and came within 6 inches of my handle bar.
