Thoughts on the Trek Emonda SL6 Pro

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Thoughts on the Trek Emonda SL6 Pro

I am considering getting the bike. I want to race and chose races that have climbs. I am a smaller rider and I only weigh 115lbs and I can average 250 wats for about 45 minutes.

I want a bike thatís good for climbing and descending in dry conditions. I donít need something aero I rather have something that I can climb faster with since thatís a strength alread

Hey Kevin, the Emonda SL 6 Pro would be a fantastic bike for where you are riding!

Also, just a note, Trek University discounts are best kept to yourself!

Mitch got banned? I thought industry reps are allowed here? He gave me a great answer on a question about my Madone's BB. Oh well.

Yeah, but the mods think it's more entertaining to see lots of non-experts theorize on the correct answers to technical questions. There's no fun in single definitively answered posts = /thread

I recently purchased a new bike and was looking at the trek sl6 pro. It seemed like a solid platform that would preform well. The only reason I went with another bike was money. The trek was a left over bike that the store was taking $150 dollars off msrp and acting like they were doing me a favor.

I mean, this is a forum where the words Pakistan and recumbent are censored, so nothing surprises me...

Edit: looks like they were censored

Seems the 2020 SL6 Pro is disc only. Do you prefer disc or rim?

I have that bike and it's great. Buy it.

If it helps, I'm just under 5'7 and 130lbs. FTP around 245. I have a size 52 and run with all the spacers over the stem. Fitted it with a FSA areanova LTD handlebar. Can't be happier.
