Alternative to Lake MX 237 -Sidi?
I have a size 46.5 MX 237 and love these shoes EXCEPT these plastic piece for the Boa cable is digging into ankle bone. I’ve tried a higher onsole-no help.
Wonder if the shoes will break in and no pain. I’m thinking to get a pad to cushion the ankle and hope shoes will back off.
My foot is 13 on the Narrow side but need a larger toe box and the Lakes are great except for the ankle issue.
I can return to competitive cycle and get a credit for another shoe but which one?
Thanks for any insights suggestions.

I had a similar issue with Lake CX-1, but those were lace ups, and I was able to adjust how I laced them to reduce the issue. Maybe one of the other Lake models would help.

I bought a pair in the CX line. Had the moldable soles. Loved the shoes, but had a continual rub where the BOA wire hit the tongue. I was getting a callus on the very top of my foot/ankle. In the end, I sold them on eBay and moved on. I don't think these modern cycling shoes "break in" like a tennis shoe would. There's just no flex in the cycling shoes so problems don't go away.
I went with the Bontrager shoes. Mainly went that way due to the Bontrager warranty. You can essentially return any of the Bontrager stuff within the first 30 days of ownership if not satisfied.

Thanks for the insights. I’ve been trying different adjustments and sometimes they are comfortable and sometimes I have to make the top Boa adjustment loose to avoid the rub. I have to decide tomorrow about returning or not
