bampilot06 what's your prediction on when the 737MAX will fly again?
This video goes into the hurdles: First, fixing the plane; second, getting the dormant planes working again; third, and most surprising to me, the bottleneck in getting pilots certified to fly it. Those simulators are expensive.

It's dark. There's snow up there, natural and otherwise.
We had a dusting this morning. Unknown the impact it may have had on February precipitation and Golden Snowball standings.

They are Japanese gambling devices that started out as kids' toys.
I was a helluva pinball player at one point in my life. Back in the early 90s people used to sometimes watch me play at my local. One of the biggest disappointments in my life involves one specific game of pinball.

The Pa*****o machine we have is old enough to be a family heirloom. My dad bought it back in the mid 1970's at a department store. It's pretty big and works mainly by gravity. There are a few electric light-bulbs but it works fine by putting all the ball bearings in a reservior at the top and gravity does the rest. I should have put a ruler there for scale, it's about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide.
My parents offered it to me when they downsized. How could I say no? It still works, although the ball launcher sometimes gets a little sticky.

Agreed. But if the typical usa consumer is ascared, they will hold off on buying that new car or other shiny object, and that could be no bueno for the economy. Stay tuned.

While we were in VA waiting out the last days of my FIL, one of the things that really concerned me (and still does) was my brother in law's indulgence of the, ahem, current administration's Kool-aid. Both my FIL and BIL were very fiscally conservative and they'd occasionally opine along the lines of, "well, look at that market! They say that it can't keep going up, but that's all it does!" as they scoff at basically anyone that's not a hard-core righty. Well, when my BIL got an idea of the kind of money that would be passed on to my MIL, he excitedly said to my wife, "we should really have her put that in the market!" *Groan*
Now it's just those two down there, and I'm afraid that he's going to influence her more than would be good. I mean, my wife is in regular contact, and she has similar concerns, so hopefully we'll be able to head off any stupid moves, but still. Ugh.

I'm hoping to buy wheels from a Dane tonight, if that helps.

My mom is 79 and my dad is 85. I don't get too involved in their finances, but my mom sometimes tells me how their investments in the market are doing great.
I tell them that at their age, they can't really afford to lose a big chunk of their assets and they should only have 25% in the market. I don't think they listened.
