How Many Pairs Of Road Shoes Do You Have?

Dangerous Old Man
Three pair, Venzo carbon black and red dial a matic, Tiebao Carbon Multicolored double dial, my most comfortable best fitting pair, and a pair of Shimano RC7 dial a matic in white. They all get used. Wet day? No problem next day.

One for now (a 200$ pair of Shimano dating from 2018 that are still in very good condition).
Might buy a second pair this Spring if I find a deal ''I can't refuse'' somewhere. I like my current ones, but I would use a little more cushion on the sides. Having wide feet comes with its own specific set of issues.

3. All Bont vaypor, each new pair bought after a crash but have managed to keep the crashed pair serviceable.
My original laced versions, std vaypors are now my winter shoes as they fit under shoe covers easy. My 2nd pair with ratchet buckles are now my turbo trainer shoes and my newest vaypor s are my best shoes.

Anyone who has two pairs of the same shoes in different colors and doesn’t mix them is a hopeless square.

Sure, but why else would you not wear your best shoes, regardless of how you define "best"? If the higher priced shoes offer better performance, comfort, etc...why wear lesser ones? I suppose that would mean you own several pairs of shoes, but I think the OPs question was really about how many pairs do you actually wear regularly vs own but may not use.

I'm guessing, however, that you own more than one pair of shoes,
and do not wear dress shoes for a muddy hike, nor wear them again the next day when they are still wet.

I have two pairs of SPD shoes that I use on both road and trail. One pair is a low cost Shimano with velcro the other is low cost Giro with laces. Not sure what the model numbers are but I paid less than $70 each.
I hate them both. I'm going to stay with SPD for all of my bikes but I think I'm going to shop for a pair that is a little more comfortable. I usually wear the Shimano and I have spent a lot of time with a shoe stretcher and heat gun trying to get a more comfortable fit and I have improved it some. But still wearing them is as close to self-inflicted torture as one can get. The next pair I get will prolly be a lot more expensive and I will not rush the decision on what pair to get.

Down to two pairs, one for the gravel bike, one for the road bike, both SPD. What's funny is my "road" shoes are actually gravel shoes, and my "gravel" shoes are actually mtb shoes.

1 pair of vintage Sidis with slot cleats for my vintage bikes.
1 pair of Sidi Dominators that are still going strong after a half dozen years. I use them for road, mountain, and gravel.
1 almost new pair of backup Dominators that I found cheap for the day when the old ones die.
1 pair of Giros that I got as part of a sponsorship deal. They're really too narrow for me in the toe but I'm too much of a cheapskate to get rid of them, so I use them on rides of less than 50 miles.
