Vetta V100-HR Wireless Speed/Distance and Heart Rate

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am in the market for a good HR monitor and I've been looking at this one. Performance has them for $120.00. The product description also lists that cadence is "Optional Cadence (wired only)". Does that mean it comes with this accessory if you want to use it, or is it an extra accessory? I can't find where a cadence kit for this model is offered.

Anyone out there currently using this model that can provide some feedback would be appreciated.

Also, is the chest strap washable?

If it helps, I've got the V100A (wireless speed and wireless cadence). The Vettas do come in two flavours: a wired cadence version and a wireless. The wireless kit comes with a wireless sensor (duh) and a new handlebar mount (the wireless functionality is in the mount not the computer.

I like the unit. The auto stop/start is a bit annoying but you get used to how it works after a while (basically you have to hit a button if you stop long enough for the unit to go into sleep mode).

I'd guess at $120 that's it's wired cadence. Complete Cyclist sells the wireless cadence version for $150 https://www.competitivecyclist.com/za...RY.ID=44&MODE=

geargurl on ebay sells the full wireless kit, with wireless cadence for 120$ or so i think, that's where i got mine. The strap is washable, but it's water resistant, not waterproof, so don't expect to soak it for 1/2 hour, just rinse the rubber pads and pat dry is all i do.

The unit works pretty good, i've had to pull the battery once or twice and wipe the thing cause of random glitch's and i'm on my second speed sensor, but geargurl honored the warrantee even though it was an ebay purchase

It's a good contendar, i'd also consider the polar cs200 though.
