Back problems get worse after cycling???
I have a mild back problem. More like it aches if i do something that requires a lot of bending over or staying in one position. I know, it sux i'm 23yrs old and have this problem.
but i'm wondering if cycling will increase your back strength or give you more back problems?
I've heard that it will give you more back problems.. feedback appreciated.

core work (pilates etc) is what you should add to your training schedule.
helped me out (& my back) in every which way (biking, swimming, running etc)

In my case, it improves my back.
A few years ago I gave up cycling because of back problems. Then they just got worse until I had to see a sports physiologist who prescribed physiotherapy. I was told that my muscles had atrophied and was given exercises to do. I gradually built up my strength on a stepping machine until I picked up cycling again. Now, when I wake up with a sore back and other related aches and pains, I just hop on the bike and do an 50k ride, even if I am in pain. This is followed by stretching and weight lifting. Then I usually feel fine for the rest of the day.
That's just me. Your situation may be different. So go easy.

work into it gradually, stretch, do core workouts, and heat before, ice after.
