Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2003 Litespeed Vila

Just picked up (on a whim) a 2003 NOS Litespeed Vela from Litespeed direct (preownedbikes.com). All 105, aluminum frame, carbon fork. Anyone own one? Thoughts? Might be somewhat of a poseur move on my part, just to own a "Litespeed", though not a "real" one- frame made in Taiwan. Should be a great bike though.

How does the ride compare to a Ti or Carbon bike? I might buy a 2005 Litespeed Avior (Aluminum). On its web site, Litespeed claims the bike has ride similar to that of a Ti bike

i'll let you know once I get it. I have a Felt F70 w/ alum and carbon frame. It will be interesting to compare the two.

A coworker was considering that bike. I'd love to hear your feedback once you get it.
