Padded wheel bag UNDER $50?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Padded wheel bag UNDER $50?

Hi all,
Like many things cycling oriented, wheel bags are stupidly expensive. An unpadded nashbar wheel bag is $12.99

Somehow, when you add padding and room for an extra wheel the price jumps to $150!!

Any help?

I just use the unpadded Performance brand bags. Nothing fancy just gets the job done. Right now they are $9.97 on the website.

Can't you just pad the bags yourself? Get a whole lot of bubble wrap from Home Depot and stick it in the cheap bags.

First one, as far as I can tell, only holds 1 wheel. Same for the second one. The third one is fine, but its $20 over my desired price cap, thats40% over my desired amount.

Anyone else have any insight?

This is probably a stupid question (most of mine are), but why is the padding so important?

I agree with koffee. If cheap is what you want, buy a non padded bag and line it with bubble wrap.
