What's the opposite of OCP?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This question occurred to me as I topped off my (mismatched) tires for my ride tonight and removed the reflector that had been on the front wheel since I bought the bike a year ago (reflector on rear wheel 'fell off' when I fixed a flat a few days ago). I've only made half-hearted attempts at removing the ugly stickers all over everything, I got a good price on the bike because of a paint defect, I can barely be arsed to clean the chain, let along actually wash the bike, and to top it all off, I wear white cotton socks!

Is there any hope for me?

Taking the reflector off shows there is some hope for you - however you may have passed the point of no return - i.e. you may actually be a cyclist!

Can I suggest you stop fixing your own flats (thats what LBS is for), match those tyres (with each other and the frame) get out the lemon Pledge, buy yourself some team kit and have a good hard look at yourself before its too late!

As I glued a reflector to my backpack, and put my bike with one 27 inch and one 700c wheel in storage BECAUSE THAT'S MY GOOD BIKE, I wondered what the opposite of OCP was myself... Perhaps we need to start one. Every Superfriends needs a "Legion of Doom".

That is pretty funny. I like your location underneath your username too: "where litespeeds come from"

Informal observations lead me to believe the largest anti-OCP contingent can be found in the SS/FG forum.

His ride would probaby end up much better than an OCP.

He'd also actually ride the bike.
I'm pretty close to that... minus the fact that I'm running Campy Record levers... However, I do have Tektro brakes, $389 handbuilt wheels instead of $800 Rolfs, $25 Michelin tires, an Arione I got off Ebay for $80, the middle-of-the-line Time RXS pedals (not carbon or Titan carbon) and the FSA Gossamer Compact crankset (instead of the carbon team issue and such). Oh, and a $25 American Classic seatpost... because hey, it's a friggin seatpost!

He's not far from me... he's from Chattanooga. He's had various "locations" listed, most of which are pretty amusing. Maybe I'll make it down to Chattanooga one of these days and ride with him

I know this is a Road forum but...
Fun Fringgin tastic.
This is my training parner's. Of course he switches the bars at the track.

Wheels are worth more than the rest of the bike.

That's an awesome bike. I like how FG wheels don't have the machined braking zones.

I think there are two forms of reverse OCP out there. 1) those that go for the most performance at the best price. The frame may be a no-name or perhaps a few years old recieved second hand but have mid-high level mixed bag of parts. or 2) The second hand mid-low level bike owners who would rather ride the steel 27" wheels off their old schinn than pose all day at the 7-11.

I myself fall into the second catagory.

Opposite of OCP, someone that rides and easily drops OCP members, and someone that values performance first and looks dont even matter.
