Best "WIRED" computer for bike...
Hey everyone, I looked for threads on computers for the bike but it seems that everyone is concentrating on "wireless" computers. I have a Mavic Win-tech wireless with cadence and I'm totally feed up with it. This isn't a thread to knock the Mavic but I want a wired computer that has cadence and all the other bells and whistles (don't need HRM). I just want a good quality 'puter that has many the things that the newer wireless models are coming with. The reason I want a wired model is the response time with wireless is just sooooo slow and the Mavic has automatic start and stop that doesn’t always start! It's very frustrating to start a ride only to notice later that the 'puter hasn't started and you can't even get it going with the simple push of a button. Help?

I use the BC1600 (without cadence though) and am very happy with it. I've also heard many people say they really like their Astrale's. Can't really go wrong with either one I don't think...

Cateye Astrale 8. I agree, something nice about not having to worry about wireless.

For a wired computer with cadence, it'll be hard to beat either of these. The display on the Sigma looks better and the computer can be mounted on the stem, which the Astrale can't.

I use the Sigma.
Able to mount it on stem instead of bar.
Cadence is optional, so if ever choose to, i can remove it and be 1 wire less.
