Well, no.. you set up a radius around your abode in the "Privacy Zone" section; selection of up to about 1km radius.

I'm intrigued though by the 2nd implication of a cycling stalker that might wait for you somewhere along one of your typical routes. It's pretty sad if this is a thing.

There was a recent bank robbery in Mexico city. The thieves studied one female employee, to get her routine down. They stopped her on her way to work, locked a remotely activated explosive belt around her waist and sent her on her way. I don't remember the rest of the details, but they made off with quite a haul.

They did this WITHOUT the help of Strava Flyby... just to be clear, right?

People are terrible at determining risk, actual statistical risk vs perceived risk is often way off. Part of it is the numbers, 2 people having something happening seems the same mentally as a 100 or 1000 even though one is potentially 500x more times. We mostly just see, "It happened", not the amount. Someone will drive in a car everyday or use their cell phone while driving or smoke cigarettes and not think anything of it but not use Strava flyby because of that one person who was stalked and had a bomb strapped to them. :)

That is so true.
really well explained by Daniel Kahneman in Thinking Fast and Slow book.

just the “it happened” scenario is waking the lizard brain and human brain doesn’t handle statistic and probabilities well at all
