Giro Republic R Knit HV sizing

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giro Republic R Knit HV sizing

I ordered a pair of Giro R Knit HV in size 46 hoping the HV would be wide enough. I tried them on and they were not wide enough. For reference, I measured my feet according to the Lake shoes website. The measurements are 270mm length/100mm width. Now trying to find a pair of Lakes to order and send the Giros back. That is all. Just a PSA for people interested in the Giros.

There are a lot of brands that surprisingly don't deal with widths. So it get's down to knowing how those brands tend to run. Wide, narrow or in between.

Annoying I know. I like a narrow fit.

Shimano I think has wide sizes or at least they tended to feel too wide on me. My Pearl Izumi's I'd consider a narrow to in between width. Giro, I don't know.

Disappointing. I'd really like a lace-up shoe with some width to it.
