Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That hip thing sucks. He'll be fine, and hopefully back on the bike soon. It's that learning how to walk again thing, that bites.

I've been engaged in undisclosed activities. Get home and see that your Volunteers are locking in a trip to the post-season.

I'm assuming that means you were shopping for my Christmas present.
Hint: I'm in the market for tires.

He went down pretty hard. I would estimate at 20MPH. Sounds like hip took initial impact. Stuff happens.

North Carolina is putting a beat down on the U. One of their running backs has about 16,000 rushing yards.

I know 4 (!) guys who suffered broken hips this year. 2 of them had multiple other injuries. One of them is 55 and has osteoporosis. It's a dumb sport.

In other news I had a nice ride today with a group of 12. 40ish at the start and got up to 60. 45 miles and 4200 feet of climbing. I felt pretty good on the climbs.

This is one reason I ride like your grandmother. I really need to get some weight and shock loading on these old bones. They can always be stronger.
