Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, I feel pretty stupid, actually.
I don’t have nearly the sense of humor about falling down and getting hit that I used to.

While I was at the shop they had a wall of there bike shop name kits. I went over to look, I am all for wearing local clothing, thinking it would be some what cheap and I was way wrong. Long sleeve jersey was 85, short sleeve was 65. I am sure the quality is good, I was just shocked at the price.

Ouch, sorry to hear. Take care of yourself. See a doctor if needed.

Seems like the going rate for a moderately-priced jersey that's not on sale.

Crazy.

How does the bike ride now that you are fitted? Do you like it? Does it feel weird?

In other news, at least UT has a band (unlike KCB ), but it's sad that it's been scaled back so much. #2020

It is extremely quiet, the view is unrestricted, hot but dry, areas where traffic was non existent.

I haven’t gone more than a few laps around the block. It felt great on a trainer, always a good sign

Correct, until the season of death kills everything. Did you go through Nashville? Lexington?

Thanks. The last time I crashed off road was 2007. I was descending a steep trail miles into the forest and I went over the bars and bounced down a cliff around 40 feet and landed in a creekbed with a bit of water. I had to ride 2+ hours to get out of there. That was my first crash on a mountain bike that was of any consequence.
Prior to that was my worst off-road crash when I got knocked off my motorcycle in 1983.

This time was much less of an adventure, just a simple mistake a few miles from home.
