cool pics.i wish there was an event like that here on the east coast.maybe NYC to a NJ beach or vice versa.

simplyred 07-14-05 09:07 PM

Who took the pictures?

glassman 07-14-05 09:17 PM

Really cool pics. But when you cross the finish line, you should raise both hands over your head, curl your fingers to point back to yourself with. I thought the guy who won the stage a few days ago looked cool when he did that. When you ride that far, do you have someone along the route with a feed bag to hand off to you? I like the pic with the barn in it too.

TheKillerPenguin 07-14-05 09:19 PM

How was the terrain?

Jakey 07-14-05 09:31 PM

How did you get them that big?

Sat after Labor day...the best ride of all...the Maloney's ride in Margate NJ. This is the last ever event after 30 yrs.

ke422azn22 07-14-05 09:31 PM

Lol, i was so gonna do that, but I barely passed the big looking buff guy, and didnt have time to get ready for the two hand raise. The rails on the side were kinda narrow, I didnt wanna crash and look like an idiot.

Oh no, sad news. My second job after college I got sent to AC, moved to Margate literally right across from Maloney's, it was February and I had no idea what was in store for me come Summer. A friend of mine from Longport clued me into the Maloney's ride, what a blast, why are they ending it? (Or, I can't believe it lasted 30 years).

dude, skinny one. Just cuz i brain farted, and forgot force was a vector doesnt make me poor in physics. I finished physics like 3 years ago. Besides, I was thinking in terms of perpendicular angular force. Direction of force didnt really matter, when you are calculating the work done on pedaling.

ohhh, okay--no we'll take you seriously just because you decide to play friendly for one night.

It's not like you posted a bunch of "HI Admin" threads all day yesterday and wasted Joe's time or anything.

What the heck is that .. Did you mean centrifugal force...

P.S -- Dircetion does matter, on the upstroke you pull, downstroke you push.. on top of that there is an angular component which causes the force to be non perpendicular w.r.t to a horizontal plane..

Notheless wrong thread to discuss this... Peace...

This gal's opinion:

There isn't anything even remotely sexy or appealing about you.
I'm sorry to have to tell you.
You're not funny, you're not brilliant and you'll never eat cookies in my bed.

ke422azn22 07-14-05 10:15 PM

im not talking about centrifugal force. Thats due to things wanting to go straight, and the force required to hold it back, from moving tangentially.

im just talking about pushing on a pedal (near perpendicular) around and around.
