Just got word, dads had another heart incident and is back in the hospital. I talked with my mother. He is doing well, and in good spirits. But no visitation due to covid.
Its hard to talk about but I haven't been on good terms with them since well before x mas. Ended up in an argument over the holidays. I feel like a punching bag at a boxing gym.

I use the clip when I get to the levers.To hold the wrap while I trim the small piece that hides the clamps. Stick it in place. Unclip and do the figure 8. Finish. Done

I probably wouldn't like the cold any more, but if I'm going to live somewhere with winter weather, I want it to go all-in. I haven't ridden my MTB in months because this winter there has been an unusual amount of snow on the ground, and trails are groomed for fat biking. That would be awesome if I had a fat bike, but over the last 5 years I've been here there's never been a winter with enough snow to justify owning one. Same story with snowshoes or XC skis.

I keep a spring clip, a pair of scisors and some 1/2" gaffers tape in my bike tool box for this reason. (When I can keep the spring clip in the box that is, its one of those tools that is hard to keep track of) I used to have a pin spanner that I used for holding tape, (like a clothes pin) but it escaped the tool box.

Having my LBS remove and replace the headset and BB is cheaper and faster than getting tools I'd use once every 10 years or so. I mean, every single BB that screws in needs a different tool, it seems.

The guys in the club have been on top of me about getting a suitable winter bike, either fatty or MTB that'll take plus-sized tires (unfamiliar with the correct terminology, but a couple of the guys ride a Krampus with 3" 29ers, I think). It'd be nice, but I've got budgetary restrictions with spending in other places. Besides, if I were to get a new bike, then it'd set off a chain of purchases, like new studded tires (SO expensive for MTB/Fatty), better footwear for the cold, proper goggles, etc.
Of course, working at QBP, all that stuff would be hugely discounted.
