Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It looks like I got this. No idea how it compares to the oral steroids I take. Or how long it stays in the system. This is the only thing different than my prior infusions.

Off to the misery room...

We ride spin ride spin ride spin in our cave the whole hour through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to get fit quick
If you ride spin ride with a trainer or Zwift, take your pick
In a cave! In a gym! In a garage! In a room!
Where a million sweat drops bloom!
We ride spin ride spin ride spin from early morn till night
We ride spin ride spin ride spin up every fake road in sight
We ride miles by the score
A thousand watts, sometimes more
But we don't know what we ride 'em for
We ride ride ride a-spin spin
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's off to Zwift we go
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's off to spin we go
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho hum

My wife’s Christmas present finally arrived yesterday. I’m in for some fun later.

Anyone here ever run a 1x drivetrain? Considering grabbing a gravel bike with one since it’s only a couple hundo more than the frameset. There are a few of last year’s aspero out there with the gold paint in my size. Also eyeballing the Argon 18 Dark Matter w/ a 1x

I have 1x on the mtb but if I had a gravel bike which would spend time on the road I would want the double crank ring for range. If it was only going to be ridden in dirt then I think the 1x would be fine.
I've seen fast young guys with a 1x on a road bike but I need low gears for climbing and at least a 50x12 for rollers and downhills.

While I wouldn't run 1x with the road bike, I'd be more amenable to it with the gravel bike. I like really tight spacing when I'm trying to hang on to an effort by my fingernails, but I don't really ride gravel like that. For a couple hundred bucks over the frameset price, hell yeah - do the 1x.

Kind of where I am, it’d be 60% on road most likely

but it’s Apex.... my LBS is trying to track down a Giant Revolt, but they’re looking sold out.

There are a few Asperos out there with GRX 600 and can also pick up a Dark Matter w/ 105 for a little bit more....

I thought this looked pretty interesting. $300 less than a similar Cannondale.. And it has a 220mm headtube, which I like.

Unrelated to anything, the number of bikes I see in pictures and real life where the brakes could not possibly be used safely from the drops is astounding.

It’s a smart treadmill. Far cheaper in the long run vs. keeping a membership at the Y

Eww. I think that I would personally take a pass on the SRAM and pay a little more for 105 or GRX or whatever.
