Took just as much as I could of wind, cold, and a rapidly filling bladder, which was about 2 hrs. 60s and 70s next week, but I have to go into work Mon-Weds.

So, it turns out if you tear out all the crap in the back yard, till it up, and put down a crapload of mulch, after a few rains you end up with a gazillion little weeds popping up through the mulch. So, hthat's what I've been up to - weeding.
I also discovered that from mighty acorns, tiny oaks grow.

My wheels arrived at the Lathrop CA UPS hub last night - well, early this AM. And they haven't left, apparently. What are they waiting for? An engraved invitation?

I got out for a ride on the Cervelo earlier today. It was good fun. Also, I popped on the new Michelin Power Road TLRs. At first blush, they don't feel quite as supple as the Pro One Addix, but they seem to roll pretty well and grip seems pretty good, though I wasn't exactly chucking it in to corners with all of the sand and salt on the roads. I'll try slightly lower pressure tomorrow.

The Schwinn is going to be my commuter bike this year. Downgrading the drivetrain to 7 speed, because I have an old 105 hubset that I'm building up. And I still have the original derailleurs ('natch), I'll put those back into service.
The RD is short cage, which limits choices a bit. Officially, 28t max cog and 28t max chain wrap. But, I'm going to go crazy and see if I can run a 12-32 cassette and a 46-34 chainring combo (32t chain wrap).
I'll need to buy shifters, because I put the old ones on a bike that I ended up selling a few years ago.

I haven't totally decided about the handlebar yet. I have a moustache bar in the parts bin that I could put bar-end shifters on and I already have a spare set of road brake levers that would work. But, a flat bar with thumbies or rapidfire shifters might be preferable at the end of a long day at the bike shop. Hmm.

Began construction work in the basement today. It was not good. Had to reframe a couple walls. Had to buy 4, 2 x 4s. $6.00 a piece. That's absurd. 1 wall repair tomorrow and I can start taping. Have to make a access hatch for the water meter. And start working on repairing the drop ceiling too. So much to do! Can't move fast enough!
