Had the MRI today. Results to be relayed in visit with Doc on Monday. It was 22 minutes in length and I was offered music to listen to while being analyzed. I said 70's music.
This is what was played.
Imagine - John Lennon
What's going on - Marvin Gaye
Born to run - Bruce Springsteen
Layla - Derek and the Domino's
Superstition - Stevie Wonder
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen (only about 15 seconds and the procedure was over)
I only write this to show off my memory which seems to be failing me since I've been on my A Fib meds.
Of course, if @Velo Vol was still around he would surely approve of the quality.

Oddly, I like listening to the sounds of the machine. I think I look it as an opportunity to work on ignoring unwanted noise. I turned down an offer of music during a relatively recent MRI.

Did my second Zwift race. This time a Circuit Race in Paris. It was part of the "Anti-Sandbagging" series, where they monitor your power or something to prevent actual good riders from dominating the lower classes. So, even though I was 5th across the line I took 3rd because 1 and 2 were DQ'd. Probably would have done better if I hadn't overdone the warmup by scoring a PR on the Volcano KOM.
I'm doing pretty well in Class D! I just told Mrs. GeneJockey that it reminded me of the line from "Sixteen Candles" - "Yeah, that's me. King of the Dip****s."

I've been lucky that every bike on Ebay with Sante is too small. I can't do a 56.

Okay, so I said above that another MAX bike wouldn't make sense. But a Merckx MX Leader in my size would. Luckily, it's WAY too expensive!

Jesus, if it was really an MX Leader, and she was 125#, it would have been like riding a brick. The Battaglin with MAX tubing is about the stiffest damn thing you can imagine, so it works for me, especially when I was over 225. I can't imagine it at 100# lighter.

Does anyone else find you have to talk yourself down from projects you really don't want to undertake, but which won't leave you alone?
I'm trying really hard to convince myself that I don't want to get YET ANOTHER old steel frame, and build it up with Shimano's Sante groupset. It would be silly and quixotic AF. And I'm already having parking issues in the garage. At least with the C'dale I already had the frame, seatpost and saddle, and stem, as well as the brakes and levers, and a couple 12-25 8sp Dura Ace cassettes that were just lying fallow. This would be completely new, from the ground up. And now I already HAVE a vintage bike. Hell, THREE vintage bikes, if you count the Ritchey and Battaglin, since their frames are from the early 90s and their groupsets from the early 00's.
Cripes. The Bianchi is 15 years old now. Is IT vintage?

It took several tries, and fails, but I have not bought a bike component in over a year. I am n-4 from a year ago. I have two road bikes, an off road bike, a town bike and the coupled travel bike. And a Centurion Ironman frameset that I have no intention of building. All of them vintage steel. I had a single Sante hub--the first wheel I ever built. A beautiful hub. But it went with the most recent give away bike. Life marches on without noticing the absence.

WhyFi I put the Schwalbe on yesterday afternoon. Going to take them out for a spin this afternoon if my meeting schedule allows. They seem a little more narrow than the GP5k.
They were super easy to install and seated with a floor pump.

They are on the stock R3 carbon clincher which is 18.3mm inner width. They stayed locked, but I seated them on the stand. I rode them around the block at 95 PSI just to get the sealant sloshed around. Dropping to 70 today and will take them out. It's going to be slightly windy, but I have a 3 hour widow between meetings today that gives me time to do 25-30 and shower before a vid conference and it's going to be 62 degrees.

It’s a Pinny . . . but ugly paint scheme.

A Pinny should have Campy, not DA. Deduct $300.
