Reminds me of the time I was out walking the dog and a carload of young moronsmorans drives by, and someone tries to egg me. But apparently they had no experience with adjusting for relative velocity, as the egg flew past at least 6 feet in front of me.
EDIT: Also reminds me of the time a friend and I were riding and ended up in the middle of a charity ride. Some young toughs in a pickup (why is it ALWAYS a pickup?) drove by and the passenger did the usual "Get off the road!" shout. So I gave him a very friendly wave and shouted "HI!". I could see the passenger get pissed off that I seem to have misinterpreted him...

Personally, anything, such as peeing, that forced me to get out from under my doubled up down comforter and start shivering again, was a negative. Of course, I tried to do it "natural" and only broke down and took some Tylenol 24 hours in, when the headache became unbearable.

There is a superstition that anything which interferes with the inflammatory response will reduce the "take." However, there is no evidence for this. The CDC says "talk to your doctor" about it, just in case your doctor has some half-assed opinion on it. Most doctors I know who had big time symptoms took something. Try Tylenol first.

The REI website doesn't appear to work in Mexico. Also, in Mexico, one cannot apply for their World Elite credit card. They are a world elite company as long as you have a USA phone number. I am a long time member and am about ready to throw in the towel on them.

Remember I had the chain slip under load in easy gears a while back? Problem was worn front chainring.
I had a mild recurrence last week when I put the Williams 38 rear wheel on. It has a used Dura-Ace ww cassette, and would slip just one tooth in the 4 biggest cogs. I could not tell visually if cogs worn, but I believe they are Ti and wear fast.
For yesterday’s ride I put a 105 cassette on and problem solved.

Interesting. I have their card. Just activated my replacement one yesterday. Kitty's medical bills helped me run up a larger than normal dividend for last year.

A couple of years ago when Mrs. Abshipp was at work, she got a sliver of something underneath her fingernail (!!
!!) and went to an urgent care clinic.
I met her there and the physician determined that he was going to cut away some of the nail and attempt to extract the sliver. Right before he began he said to her "Okay, this is going to hurt."
He tried to walk it back a little by saying "It's going to hurt a little bit" but we all knew that he spoke the truth from his heart the first time.
And yes, it did hurt, indeed.

I guess it was an REI kind of day - I just got back from there, myself. My sun sleeves are getting to be a little loose on me, so I bought some that are one size smaller, and picked up some Shot Bloks while I was at it.
Then I wandered in to a Sierra Trading Post a couple blocks away and saw that they had a pair of Castelli sun sleeves for 4 freaking dollars. I was disappointed to see that they were XXL, though... And then I pulled them off of the hanger thingy - they were tiny! They were also stretchy and fit really well, so I bought them, too.
I wish that they would have had multiple pairs.
