Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anybody need some “gently” used cleats?
Thats is something that needs to be addressed. Cleats didn't used to be this cheap. 2 years ago they suddenly turned to absolute sh...rubbish! Im going through 3 pairs a year now. That's just un acceptable. The blue seem to last a little longer but man the yellow bits would just fall off from a hard look. I've put a foot down and almost ended up on my ass when the cleat goes skating out from under me. No bueno!

You got your money out of those for 👍 sure!

FYI one way to try to distinguish a cold from covid19 is that a cold usually has lots of mucus/snot. COVID19 typically does not. It's more complicated, of course. COVID usually has more achiness and fevers too.

There is a bad joke in there too...."I thought it was covid but it's snot," yeah I won't quit my day job.

Speaking of the covid, one of my patients is an ID physician who works for a big Pharma company in vaccines (but his expertise is Ebola) . I just saw him and he told me the good news is the new UK variant preserves the spike protein (which is the target of the vaccines) but early studies suggest the new variant from Africa has a slightly different spike protein. Whether this affects the virus is not yet clear but could be a problem. Stay tuned.

I can say that after having COVID, that the body aches were the worst part for me. I started with a scratchy throat and stuffy nose, tested negative, but then also had the other symptoms. Minor fever and severe body aches for a couple of days. Finally a stuffy nose and gone after 2 weeks. Not recommended.

BF with the debt relief email.

They must have gotten that bright idea from the Yearly Cycling Expenditures thread.

Or possibly Addiction.

Ah. Had to look that up. Med school embryology doesn't go that deep into phylogeny.
