Help me develop parts list for Di2
Settled on a di2 upgrade for my 2019 Giant advanced pro. It currently has a full Ultegra 8000 gear set and hydraulic disc brake.
I know I’ll need 8070 shifters and a front and rear derailer. The rear cassette is currently an 11-30, which I don’t plan to change, can I run or short or do you recommend a medium length derailer? Other than cables and batteries what else will I need? Do you recommend seat post batteries or bars?

I recommend the longest cage you can. Never limit yourself to the edge have a little extra space. I use a seatpost battery on mine. I would also make sure you have the proper junction boxes A+B for the A junction I would go bar end for cleanliness but you will need the Y cable for it. I would also recommend longer cables rather than shorter ones.

Pretty much as above. Seat post battery is my preferred and to be fair I’m not even sure what other is even offered anymore.
For your A junction box I would recommend the stem
mount for ease but if you don’t mind doing some bar drilling then go bar end, and add the y harness. The A Junction also used to offer both a 3 or a 5 plug. Not sure if this is still the case but if so I preferred the 5 for growth options (but again I think things have changed with additional ports being added to the levers).
I also have always wrapped my B Junction in a little bubble wrap before placing in down tube to avoid any rattling.
make sure you have any grommets needed for where the wires enter or exit the frame. Shimano has a couple of different sizes that should work, your bike manufacturer may also offer a kit of some type.
have fun!
