Nothing under the shorts....

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sorry to hear that, of course there's more to life. Just keep a positive attitude and try not dwell on it.

Birthday suit ...
The more seams/material you have, the more chance of chafing.

sorry I've looked at a lot of posts--but never came across one that came out and said women too. Though I suppose I should've assumed it...seeing as though chaffing is the reason why...silly me!

I got a first hand experience of this riding 2 1/2 hours in downpouring rain. For some reason the rain caused alot more chafing then usual.

Why? Thats a load of crap. The only reason the pro's do it is because its easier to get massaged down without hair. And dont tell me "hair" in the wounds. Im in Nursing school right now and during clinicals i have done dressing's on tons of people and the hair never presents a problem. Everything from road rash to gigantic pressure ulcers.

I think hair only presents a real problem if people do not know how to clean their wounds and keep them sanitized. I tore my leg up badly on barbed wire with multiple 3" by 3/16ths cuts. I sanitized them properly and they healed up very quickly, regardless of the fact that I do not shave my legs.

Not sure why there is so much adamance for the "shaving of legs" from some people. Peroxide + Neosporin - Bandaids == Win

Exactly, learn how to clean a wound and you dont need to shave there legs.

Its because the "pro's" do it that when someone sees a guy with hairy legs they immediately think "rookie" and are like "gross a cyclist who has hairy legs!!"

Whatever!

It's a bummer pulling tape off of hairy legs...learned that in J.High football with bad ankles.

Texascyclist, when it's wet or hot out, this is when you REALLY need chamois cream.
It should solve your problem.
