Getting more waves than usual.
Maybe after the long Winter and covid limitations cyclists are more friendly? I've been getting more waves and nods than usual. And its the cool flat back club racer types in local club jerseys waving. Makes me feel good like I must be displaying a high level of riding souplesse. Or could be my new Gitane Grand Sport Deluxe in Eddy orange that gets their attention. Anyway that wave or nod is welcoming. Feels good. I typically nod and lift my left hand on the bars to oncoming riders. Ride on paisans!

When I walk with my wife, I'm getting more "passing left" or "on your left" from cyclists too. I'm glad that the perseverance of me and a couple other cyclists for over 10 years doing this on our local MUP is starting to have an effect on many newbs that are now doing the same.
It's far from perfect yet. Some still think it embarrassing I guess.
Oh yeah, we wave too. Maybe just a lift of the fingers on the hoods or a nod. We like to be friendly.

As for waving, most in my area seem to do it, except a few who are deeply tucked into their time trial positions, such that a wave incurs too much air resistance and a nod is just physically impossible given how low they are already over their handlebars.

It would be cool if we could press a hidden button on the top of our brifters that was paired to a GPS head unit that wirelessly transmitted a predetermined greeting so we don’t have to actually wave,

Since I started wearing my spring cycling jersey I've been getting more waves too.
Some people wave and some people just point.
