HED Jet4 Wheels

I've spent about 3 weeks now on a new set of Jet 4 Blacks. Have to say I've been impressed. Running 25mm Conti's, measuring an actual 26mm width on the 25mm rims so a nice match from an aero standpoint. Currently at 75psi and the feel is very smooth and fast. The frame is a Felt FR1 and there is plenty of clearance to try out 28's.

My ride today today included some nasty 20+ mph gusting cross winds. This isn't a super deep section but I was surprised how stable this wheel set was, very easy to hold a line.

They are a bit noisy, sound like my disc and the sound under braking takes some getting used to. Overall a very impressive every day wheel set.

check the toe of your brake pads, I have been using HED's for a while and at first they had a little squeek on the rear brake but i toed my pads and no noise anymore.

It will be the textured brake surface, not squeal from incorrect toe in.

Had mine since 2018. Tried different brake pads but Shimano was less noisy. HED says that the noise will go away after a few weeks of use but the squeal/noise never went away. lol

Breaking was a lot better than a regular rim though.

Correct, I know how to set up brakes. The textured surface has a unique noise, not annoying just different. And brake performance is excellent! There is also a sort of hollow echo noise, similar to what I get from a disc wheel, due to the thin fairing construction.

I know its the textured surface, as i said i have them too, they have a turbine sound when braking but if you getting a squeal it can be the toe of the pad. I changed mine a little bit and bam no more squeal only the turbine noise.

i also use shimano pads for reference.
