Can you pick out a rule change in the TDF this year?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

More likely the helmet sponsors complained about the scenes of all the riders tossing the helmets as soon as they were allowed.

No they didn't actually toss them like they do water bottles. They either handed their lid to a team helper by the side of the road at the bottom of the final climb or they would put them on the front of their handlebars.

Man, way to ruin my parade. j/k I was just thinking back to the way my Dad said people used to get whenever somebody pitched/batted(?) a baseball into the stands and everybody would jump up trying to catch it.

Some riders would get frustrated and throw them to the side of the road, creating a big hazard if the helmet defleted back onto the road.
