aero helmets evidently matter

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just got a Rudy Project Boost 01. I bought it because I wanted the optical shield. I was tired of losing contact lenses despite trying many pairs of sunglasses. It's not really funny looking but it is supposed to be aero. Fits perfectly but I haven't had a chance to road test yet.

My wife and I have been using aero helmets with magnetic clip-on "goggles" for about 3 years and really like them. We don't care about speed, but they are very quiet because they streamline airflow, lowering drag, and you don't have to wear glasses to protect your eyes. Some people wear their regular prescription glasses with the goggle in place. #Vents vary by model and in hot weather you can remove the goggle to increase air circulation inside the helmet. Of course they are great in cold weather, and some models look pretty sharp.

Update: I've had a couple rides now. I love this helmet. Fits me perfectly and is pretty light. Is it more aero? I have no idea. Mine is the gray on the right in the link below.
