Aluminum "Time" Frame?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Aluminum "Time" Frame?

Recently spotted a bike on Craigslist that fits my budget for a first road bike (I currently only own a cross bike). Can't post links yet, so if you search "51CM Road Bike Aluminum & Carbon Shimano 10 Speed" in the SF Bay Area Craigslist you should find it.

I've never seen a Time frame before. The seller claims that it is aluminum with carbon stays, but has no other info about the frame year/model listed. A quick search, and I've only found info about carbon frames from Time, no aluminum. Does anyone know if the frame is of decent quality and worth the asking price of $700 when considering the components? I also asked questions about frame sizing from the seller and am waiting for a reply.

Looks ok, Ultegra/105/sram needs some explaining. Not worth 700.

That's the one. What would be a fairer price for a bike like this?

There really is only one way to answer that, what is it worth to you? It looks like a very nice bike in VG condition. It has decent components and all new cabling. If it is your size and local to you, it looks to be worth checking out.

I don't think that is a real Time frame. I think someone added a sticker to it. My guess is that if you see it up close, you will be able to tell. That said, it doesn't mean $700 is a bad price for it. Not a good price either, but bike prices are kind of crazy now, so it's hard to truly say whether it's a good deal.
