Robert Marchand 1911-2021

Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Pretty impressive that he was able to improve his performances between ages 101 and 103. Heck, I'm only in my 60s and getting slower every year while working harder to stay fit.

MoAlpha , thanks for posting this. I find the 14 miles in an hour, at the age of 106, to be be really impressive. I state his mileage numbers as an elderly person, to others quite often. My Mom was still doing aqua aerobics until she was 86. That is when she voluntarily surrendered her drivers license. I would like to still be pedaling when I am 80, only 11 years.
