Well, made my first group ride today, and it was a blast. About 25 or so people started out at the LBS and set out in a light drizzle. It was a ton of fun, MUCH better than riding alone. I tacked on to the back of the pack with one of the veterans and just hung out drafting and eating road spray from everyone, which suited me fine. About mile 15 or so the pace jumped from low 20's to upper 20's (maybe even over 30mph, I have no clue) and I got dropped like a rock, lol. Apparently my cannondale jersey didn't add the 10 horsepower it was supposed to 
(come to think of it, neither did the kanji letters on my friend's rice rocket... hrmm... methinks these to be related lol) Anyway, turns out the guy I'd been pacing with at the back also got dropped slightly before I did, and we wound up meeting up a couple of miles up the road and bringing it back in.
