Someone finally put a Soloist frame on Weight Weenies.
Not bad, and kinda what I expected: 1425g, or 3.14lbs (for you old fashioned types) for a 58cm

by the way, my steel Superprodigy is only 262g heavier, which is 0.577 of a pound
(yes, I'm a geek who puts his frames on Weight Weenies):p |
I never really liked the look of the Soloist...that is until this weekend when I saw one at our MS150 rather than looking at it on the web. MAN is that bike sweet looking in person. I think I have another year or so before I buy a high end bike to replace the Salsa but the CF Soloist FOR SURE is on the test ride list.

can't wait to see the prices of the next year's carbon Soloist
probably be $6000 down here :( |
Cervelo lists the US price for the frameset (frame, fork, and seatpost, according to a local cervelo dealer) at $3199; Canadian at $3999.
I've already got all the other components I want on my current road bike (with the possible exception of some Zipp 404s I've been drooling over) so I'll buy just the frameset and sell my current fork and seatpost. If you had to build up a complete bike from just a $3200 frameset I could how it could easily go over $6000. |
Woah!!

The Soloist is nice to be sure, however I seem to like the lines of the R2.5 more for some reason.
The R2.5 Chorus is $3900 cdn ready to roll. The R2.5 frame is $2999 cdn. Not sure what this includes but probaly the fork and maybe the carbon seat post. Seems a Chorus is the better deal seeing as you get the shifting group, wheels, saddle, pedals...stc ;) I'm really digging those Cervelos :) |
