Can I use "triathlon" shoes?
I really like the Carnac TRS-6 traithlon shoes especially because the color and style matches my bike. However, I won't be focusing on triathlons. Will I regret getting the traithlon shoes instead of the non-triathlon shoes or is there not much of a difference? Thanks!
Regards,
Matt

A lot of people are limited by what fits, I spent forever even looking for a new pair of shoes that fits, I wasn't about to spend even more time looking for one that looked a certain way especially since I might never find it.
Almost forgot, if they do fit well triathlon shoes are pretty much the same thing as road shoes, different strap pattern on some usually less straps which might make it less adjustable, but if it fits you'd be good to go.

Some of its marketing BS, but sometimes the Tri shoes are engineered to drain water and dry quickly, I always found it funny that 1 strap is supposed to be so much quicker than 2 or three straps. as long as they are suffieciently stiff soled, you will be fine.
hey, If the shoe fits, wear it.

I think if you are comfortable with it then go for it. The purpose of the single strap is to get in/out of the shoe as fast as possible at the sacrifice of comfort.
So it all comes down to you and how it feels.

Also, many triathlon shoes are designed to unstrap/unbuckle away from the drivetrain to make for faster and safer transitions (i.e. taking your feet out of your shoes as you roll in to the transition area). Other that, and the things listed above, they are pretty comparable.

How much comfort is really lost? To those using the single strap tri shoes, do you feel like you don't have enough control over how your shoes fit?

It is more of a pressure thing. You put the same ammount of pressure over one strap versus shared over 3.
