Klein fazing out?
Is Klein fazing out of business? I looked on their website today and they do not have much for bikes, I was kind of surprised. And what happened to them being top of the line? I remember when everyone wanted one.

This is about the third time I have heard this this year. I wouldn't be shocked if it happened especially with the speculation that Lance may launch his own line of bikes at some point and you have to assume he will do this with Trek. Trek will have to see where it's eggs are when that time comes, the Madone line is fairly botique and is their hot seller, then there is Lemond which seems to have a bit of a following and some nice product for sure. Klein has nice paint jobs.... I assume they will take a hard look at the sales of the different models and go from there...if I had to guess I would think the sales break down as Trek #1, with Gary Fisher #2 and Lemond #3 with Klein bringing up the rear. Nothing to support that claim just my gut feeling. FWIW there have also been roumors of Lemond being discontinued but I would have to think they would cut Greg loose and he could do his own thing...of course they will be starting over since you would have to guess Trek isn't going to support the mfg of that product.

I haven't heard this. Why would Klein close it's doors? Given that they fall under the evil empire, I don't think financially there is any issue, and they make awesome high-end Al american bikes (the Qpro has a long legacy of course, and the Reve was just introduced last year targeting the comfort niche). Trek has even benefitted from Klein's alloy technology (vice versa, Klein is using oclv stays/forks).
I for one love Klein, it's quality, and great designs...hope that's not true.

Hopefully, someone will pick up the idea of internal cable routing. That is a great feature. Also, not only are the paint schemes attractive, but the finish is TOUGH. They don't chip like other bikes. I have a 2000 model and it doesn't have a mark on it.

Personally, the paint schemes are what turns me off to Kleins. I like everything else about them though.
