Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Raleigh Technium

Ok this is my first post and I need to know if the bike I just won is worth it or not. It is a Raleigh Technium which will be my first ever road bike although i've been mountain biking for about 6 years. Finally thought I'd take the plunge and become a roadie. Explanation, "I moved and there are no trails to ride on around here." Plenty of pavement. If I would've found this place earlier I would have asked before bidding but I guess that's my loss. From now on I'll have a community to ask.

Thanks in Advance

I like them quite a lot actually.

Here's a thread from 2000 with some info :

The one you bought looks like it may be tig-welded, which is different than the above discussion.
Enjoy it, hope the sizing works out.

Thankfully I have been to my LBS and have gotten fitted. I know the guy so he did it for free. All my MB's have come from him so he was pretty cool. I figure if it doesn't work out I'm out 175.00 with shipping. Better than being out a grand and then deciding I'd rather stick with a MB.
