Piano playing Cyclists
Might like this for free today. I'm not sayin' who wrote it . . .A bit off topic but maybe not to some of you.

That half note starting on an offbeat in the 3rd bar is bugging me.
|
It doesn't start on an offbeat, and it's mirrored with variation, in the seventh bar.

I was referring to the third bar too, the quaver starts on the second beat of the bar, straight after the crotchet, there being four beats to each bar. The minim was not extended; it creates what I considered to be a pleasant separation.
There might be something I haven't quite understood, like 4-4 written as an accentuated "1 and 2 and one and two and" since I have accentuated certain notes. which may give such impression. I'm more than happy to be educated. But my music (I mean the composer's haha) was never meant to be anything other than a fun piece, to be played with gusto as the tune matures. Two people will most probably play it in two different ways. I'm not trying to make it something it isn't, but no-one'll get depressed playing this! |

Yeah, I get that the 8th note is on beat 2, but the half note starting on the half beat is what I'm nit picking at. Personally, I would have written it as quarter, eighth, eighth tied to a dotted quarter, eighth rest. I know it's technically the same sound-wise, but it is visually more readily understood by the mind. The pleasant separation makes sense. Either way, thanks for sharing!

Eh, everything else is great, and that little issue is mathematically correct. You should see some of the things I've seen composers write... or mistakes people have caught of mine!

This cyclist plays piano.

Ditto, Emily Newsom, a classical pianist who raced for EF this year in the Tour de France Femmes.
