We had a lot of crappy weather after I finished my September trip. I also got sick for a few days. Thought it was COVID, but I tested negative twice. And I have started seeing someone who does not live near me. We have been spending weekends together. She's going on a girls' trip this coming weekend, so I have my life to myself.

Today we had 4 riders and it was nice at the start. Soon my friend with the Speedplay pedals had his cleat adapter come loose. He had to take the cleat off to get to the adapter screws but got it done quick enough. A few miles later came the first flat. He has new Hed wheels and running tubes. Had trouble last week with the rim tape moving and causing flats so he went to a bike shop and they re-taped it but apparently it's still migrating.
Anyway a few miles later I ran over a goat head and had to stop and put in a spare tube. NBD. Hed wheel guy gets 2 more flats, the last near a bike shop so we took the wheel in there and they put new tape and it looked pretty good and we actually made it back to the start without any more flats.
I've seen some rims that are tough to get tires on but these things are ridiculous. Even with a bead jack it's a struggle and he had to do it 3 times, the last time I had to help push the tire on. He was ready to heave the wheel into the bushes.
By the time we got to the last stretch it was hot and there was a stiff headwind. We were on a bike path parallel to the railroad tracks, only about 20 yards from the tracks. The train snuck up behind us, we couldn't hear it because of the wind, and the horn blasted right next to us. Scared the crap out of us. Few minutes later while waiting for a green light a truck with a 53' trailer turned in front of us and stopped before the tracks blocking the whole road. Weird day.

No ride yesterday. I took the front end appart on the indour unit to facilitate the replacement of the new narrower handlebars that failed to arrive on time yesterday. Usps strikes again!

If these Hed wheels are tubeless compatible, he needs to get the tubeless type tape.It is super thin, like capcon electronics tape. It's very thin. 2 layers is plenty of protection. It's thinness will also ease Tyre installation. On my tubeless wheels I can change the tyres without levers after switching tapes. It makes all the difference.
On my mtb wheels I have a hard time breaking the bead loose. I haven't figured out an easy way to do it and I use a big screwdriver and even with that it's ridiculous. Going back on is not bad, though. It also has the thin plastic tape.

I almost couldn't watch the end. Figured Machado would hit a walk off homer because we are Philly.

When not listening to Dickens, I've lately been listening to Alan Watts. I haven't been sleeping well and it's nice to put on something that's worth listening to. Besides the content, which I can listen to for long periods of time, he also comes from a time before the internet. Refreshing.

You are lucky I am commuting out today or I would be offended.
Heads up, if you want some real deal italian pizza check out Pupatella.
Carrytown is a cool area to walk around. Google Carrytown Cycles for directions.
Edit: Art Museum is nice too, and free entry.
If you guys want more of a nature walk, Belle isle is worth checking out.

Learned me somethings today. My crankset on the cervelo is not a 105 crankset, it’s some lower end shimano something something. The 53/39 won’t fit, but the LBs has a 52/36 so that is going on with it an ultegra 11/25 cassette. I wanted 11/30 but everything is out of stock. This gearing is going to be interesting, luckily we don’t have “hills”. Asked them to see if they could figure out what the clicking noise is.

Seriously? Go to the main forum page. Even just go to https://bikeforums.net and it defaults to it.
This is the current home page: https://www.bikeforums.net/trending.php
