About 11 or 12 years ago, my wife and I were injured in a wreck...We were lucky to have survived. The person who hit us told an EMT that she was eating a cheeseburger, had dropped a mustard packet on the floor under the dashboard, and was looking for it when she plowed into us at about 45mph.
I hope it was a really great cheeseburger.

A sheriff deputy crossed into the bike lane and killed Milt Olin and it was revealed he was texting a friend on his computer. No disciplinary action was taken because they said using that computer was part of his job.
Another kid killed a cyclist near here and admitted he was downloading ring tones on his phone.

Okay .... this proves that most of the people who flipped Corvairs were drunk.
And that, my friends, solves the issue of how long CF bikes will last.
Boy, howdy, do I love internet logic.

My 2003 Look 386 and 2006 Trek Madone 5.2 are fine, but I cracked the frame of my 2011 Felt Z5 using a slide hammer in an attempt to remove a seatpost. I may patch the frame one day.

Yeah, hope she got charged for criminal negligence for this. Putting lives of others at risk for a damn cheeseburger while you're driving, that's not cool Karen!

I worry about the cannondale carbon slice front fork on my 2001 R1000 - the frame is aluminum. but the fork is 22 years old. But looks in decent condition? Hard to tell.

I'll never forget the sight of it bouncing through the parking lot as I flew over the hood of that car.

in a vacuum indefinitely but it depends on the environment, use, and any impacts. Things like UV, heat, and impact probably are the biggest factors in keeping a carbon bike 100%.

I'm not really worried about "failure", but around 60k miles my carbon bikes started to feel worn out.

Edit: I should add that my chainring sawed the chainstay in half on my first Venge, and I'm on the SL2's 3rd fork
